Further Education courses are usually of one or two years in duration. They are open to those with a Leaving Certificate or an equivalent qualification.
Some courses require a basic level in English and Maths and/or in school subjects to submit a portfolio of work. Many courses start in September however some training courses are available with different starting times.
FET courses and programmes are provided through the Education and Training Board network throughout the country as well as through other local providers including online through SOLAS’ eCollege
FET courses are provided at levels one to six on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)
